About Loxxy
February 4th saw one of the next stars of the Nigerian music industry to be born, as we introduce Damiete Lawrence. Born and raised in Port Hartcourt, Nigeria, Damiete’s talent was obvious from a young age as he began to write, create melodies, sing & rap. Taking tips from the legendary Duncan Mighty, Damiete then began to create his own unique style & sound, from then on the star; Loxxy was born.
Loxxy had his first taste of the music industry in 2003, where he was featured on father’s track (Tony Lawrence) who is a household name in the Port Hartcourt music scene. Over the years, Loxxy crafted his musical talents and member of the music groups Xpressions (formed by Tony Lawrence) & EDGE until 2008.
Damiete moved to London in 2009 for his educational studies, but the love and passion for the music industry only grew as he took influences from the UK music industry and implemented into his own style. His other musical influences include the likes of Kanye West, Duncan Mighty, Ed Sheeran, Cold Play & Joe Budden.
His star quality can be heard in his hits ‘Finished Me’, 'Ms Dj' and soon to be hit ‘Turn on’, he is set to explode on to the Nigerian music scene. We can expect to see future collaborations with household artists & producers and most importantly make history.
